Thanks! I’m glad to know these photos were helpful! I’ve been gathering them for a while. The Magnolias in my front yard are surrounded with liriope which makes it so much easier than having to mow around them – and it helps protect their roots. Liriope don’t require much water either, so they are doing well.

We have a couple of trees in my yard that my husband hates mowing under as the branches are always hitting him and it’s not good for the mower blades. We’ve been thinking about making it a shade garden. 🙂 Perhaps next year as we have other plans in the pipeline, but this did give me some ideas- maybe a border and a ground cover.
